A Renew Classic Treatment
MICRONEEDLING
MICRONEEDLING
Medical microneedling, also referred to as Skin Needling or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is aimed at stimulating the body’s own collagen production to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, enlarged pores, stretch marks, skin laxity and scarring such as that caused by acne or chicken pox.
Microneedling is an effective treatment for improving the skin condition and skin problems, naturally.
At the beginning of this treatment we will firstly cleanse the treatment area and then apply a topical anaesthetic numbing cream for a more comfortable experience.
Within our Cheshire clinic, we use a microneedling pen rather than a dermal roller. This is a pen like device with multiple tiny, thin needles is used to perform the microneedling treatment. The microneedling pen is gently moved over the treatment area while the tiny needles lightly and quickly vibrate to penetrate the skin. The tiny, controlled injuries that the needles create on the skin then work stimulate the skin’s natural self-repair response and works to produce collagen and elastin and the support of new skin cell growth and fibrolasts.
After the treatment we use a Vitamin-C serum or Hyaluronic acid to hydrate, heal and protect the skin.
The number of microneedling treatments required will depend on the skin condition. This is something we will discuss with you at your free consultation.
Some of the conditions that Medical Microneedling is known to improve include: mild to moderate acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, skin texture and pore size, and stretch marks.
Most people will notice redness and mild swelling similar to slight sunburn for 24-48 hours and there may be slight pinpoint bleeding and/or bruising. Skin will be noticeably smoother and more radiant within a week or two. Full results will take a few months to appear.
It begins with cleaning and numbing the skin. A collagen-stimulating product, Vitamin C serum, and/or skin lightener is also used. A small pen with 12 tiny needles is used to create tiny wounds in the skin. The speed and adjustability of the needles allows for more effective piercing and absorption of skin products. Vitamin-C serum or Hyaluronic acid are used after the procedure to hydrate, heal and protect the skin.
Inflammation of the skin is very temporary and reduces greatly within a few hours. It may remain slightly pink for up to 48 hours after treatment. Using hyaluronic acid after the procedure can help reduce inflammation, and sunscreen can be used to protect the skin. Makeup use should be limited to mineral makeup.
Medical Micro needling is known to improve many aspects of the skin including, but not limited to: improves skin texture and reduces the appearance of wrinkles, regenerates tissue, improves the appearance of scars, reduces the size of pores, and reduces the appearance of stretch marks
Micro-needling can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks as needed. Collagen induction requires at least 3 treatments, while scar reduction requires between 3 and 6. 4 to 6 weeks should pass between one treatment and the next, and the number of treatments needed depends on individual cases. Micro-needling can be used on all parts of the body (neck, décolleté, arms, legs, etc). Usually results begin to appear after the first treatment.
Renew’s Medical Skin Needling treatment prices are based on the size of the area/s being treated.
