At Renew Medical Aesthetics, we use Aqualyx for fat dissolving injections.
Aqualyx is an injectable treatment used for a non-surgical reduction of stubborn fat in localised areas, thereby improving and altering the body contours. Fat dissolving injections are not a method of weight loss, but work by dissolving the fat cells, the results of which are permanent. These cells are then excreted by the lymphatic system.
Fat Dissolving Injections Treatment
Aqualyx is injected specifically into fatty tissue and results usually start to become evident around 4-6 weeks following treatment.
Treatments are generally every 4 weeks and an average of 4 sessions per area treated are required.
The process takes around 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the area to be treated.
What To Do Before Fat Dissolving Injections
Prior to treatment you’ll have a consultation with one of our Nurse Practitioners who will assess and discuss suitability of the treatment and expected outcomes. Prior to treatment you will be advised to avoid alcohol and anti-inflammatory medications.
Do Fat Dissolving Injections Hurt?
Injections are relatively painless, and are often described as a sting or pinching sensation. A local anaesthetic may be used if required. There may be some discomfort/tenderness post procedure which should respond to simple Paracetamol.
Support Garment
Immediately following treatment a support garment must be worn for a minimum of 8 hours per day to maximise the results which occurs over a period of 1 to 3 months. It is crucial to maintain a healthy diet and regular exercise to ensure lasting results.
