About Laser Hair Removal

Are you worried about excess hair? Or maybe you are fed up of using time consuming, painful methods of hair removal that don’t last as long as you’d like them to? Say goodbye to waxing, shaving and tweezing with laser hair removal. Ideal for both men and women and virtually pain-free, our laser hair removal treatments are quick and effective for all skin types. Although laser hair removal works on both facial and body hair, this treatment is most effective on darker hair.

On average 80% – 95% of hair is permanently gone after the recommended course of Laser Hair Removal treatments.

All laser hair removal treatments at Renew Medical Aesthetics are performed at our clinic in Gawsworth, Cheshire by Kelly Saynor (Clinic Director) and Sharon Brown (Clinic Manager).

To ensure a high level of patient satisfaction, your first laser hair removal appointment is a free consultation. During the consultation we will assess the area you wish to be treated and recommend treatment length and timescale. Although everyone is individual and therefore, so are treatments, generally, for best results, 6-8 treatments are required over a period of 6 months to 8 months.

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

Laser hair removal works through intense pulses of laser light which are aimed at the target area(s) and is then absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The laser light then converts into heat, traveling down to the hair to destroy the follicles (root).

At Renew Medical Aesthetics, we use a series of laser treatments spaced over a few months in order to catch the hair follicles in their growth stage. This treatment style brings about a gradual reduction in hair growth and gives your skin a long-lasting, smooth appearance.

Can sunbathing or fake tan affect Laser Hair Removal?

Yes, Skin must be it’s palest on the day of each treatment. No tan, real or fake which can not only affect your results but also put you at risk of an adverse reaction.

*Please note if you attend your appointment with a tan present on the area, your nurse will be unable to proceed with the treatment.

Does laser hair removal work on all hair?

Laser hair removal works on both facial and body hair, including large areas like the legs & back. The laser targets the dark pigment present in some hairs but is not so effective on blonde, white or grey hair.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

On average 80-95% of lasered hair is permanently gone after a recommended course of treatments, whereas when you wax, pluck or shave, the hair always grows back. With laser hair removal you need never wax or shave again!

How does laser removal compare to waxing?

Laser hair removal is a long-term hair removal solution, whereas waxing & shaving must be repeated regularly to control regrowth. Laser hair removal actually damages each hair follicle, causing it to stop growing altogether.

How much does Laser Hair Removal treatment cost?

Renew’s Laser Hair Removal treatment prices are based on the area/s of the body being treated and the size of that area.
