Botox

Renew Medical Aesthetics, Cheshire

All Botox and Azzalure treatments at Renew Medical Aesthetics are performed at our clinic in Gawsworth, Cheshire by Kelly Saynor (Clinic Director) and Sharon Brown (Clinic Manager). Two weeks after this treatment, a follow-up consultation is required for us to review the results, ensuring a high level of patient satisfaction.

Facial Lines

As we get older, the skin gradually starts to dry, get thinner and lose its elasticity.

Fine lines and wrinkles on the face are caused by many factors, including; the natural ageing process, facial expressions (frowning, smiling, pouting etc.), smoking, stress, sun exposure and dehydration.

At Renew Medical Aesthetics we use both Botox and Azzalure Botulinum products. The type of product used is dependent upon the specific patient as each treatment is completely bespoke to individual needs and requirements.

This treatment is never permanent and lasts for 3 to 4 months dependent upon the area and person.

Facial lines treatable using Botox and Azzalure

  • Glabellar lines (between the eyes)
  • Crow’s feet (outer corner of the eyes)
  • Forehead wrinkles
  • Bunny Lines (bridge of the nose)
  • Perioral / lipstick lines (vertical lines above the upper lip)
  • Marionette lines (branch down from the corners of the mouth towards the chin)
  • Chin dimpling

About Botox and Azzalure

The most popular non-surgical treatment, Botox and Azzalure are used to treat;

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)
  • Migraines

The botulinum toxin in both Botox and Azzalure works by blocking the signal from the nerve to the muscles in the face within the injected area. Days after the treatment, the injected areas will look smoother and less wrinkled, however, the areas of the face that haven’t been injected will remain as normal.

Botox

Botox is a compound (neurotoxin) of botulinum toxin type A and an injectable treatment is also used for treating fine lines and wrinkles, excessive sweating and frown lines.

Azzalure

Azzalure, also a compound (neurotoxin) of botulinum toxin type A and an injectable treatment is also used for treating fine lines and wrinkles, excessive sweating and frown lines.

Botox FAQs

What are Botox Injections?

Botulinum Toxin (often referred to as Botox) is a natural purified protein, which relaxes wrinkle-causing muscles to create a smoothed, rejuvenated appearance.

When injected into the muscle it temporarily blocks the chemical signals that make the muscle contract. Only small quantities are used and only the injected muscle will be affected.

Is Botulinum Toxin Safe?

Botulinum Toxin has an excellent safety profile. It is used in a variety of therapeutic areas and is one of the few treatments that can be given to children over 2 years of age (for non-cosmetic purposes).

It has been actively used for cosmetic procedures for over 15 years in tens of thousands of patients worldwide and has U.S FDA and European approval.

How does it work?

Very low doses of the toxin are injected into specific muscles. This relaxes the muscles and prevents contraction. It is the repeated contractions of these muscles that have caused the skin to crease and fine lines to appear.

The nerve impulse is blocked from reaching these muscles and the nerve simply relaxes or goes to sleep. This relaxation enables the skin to repair and the lines smooth away.

Why do you use more than one brand?

Different brands have different characteristics and patient benefits. Occasionally, patients that have been having this type of treatment for sometime can become resistant to its effects.

Using different brands of Botulinum Toxin ensures that we always have an alternative should this happen.

What is Botulinum Toxin used for?

In addition to treating Hyperhidrosis, it can be used to treat fine lines and wrinkles and sometimes Migraine (migraine headaches), Blepharospasm (eyelid spasm) and facial spasm.

What are the potential problems?

Superficial bruising occurs in a few cases, this will disappear after a few days. There is a small risk of eyelid or brow droop, which are reversible after a few weeks.

All these will be discussed and explained in depth at your consultation.

What happens after treatment?

We instruct you to do some facial exercises for a while after treatment. This improves the way in which Botulinum Toxin affects muscle movement and helps maximise the effect.

You will have a follow up with one of our nurses 2 weeks after treatment to review results.

When should I see results?

You should see the effect start to work over the days following treatment and should be fully developed after 2 weeks.

How long will the effect last?

For line & wrinkle treatment, the effects can last anywhere between 3- 4 months. For excessive sweating treatment, effects can last up to 9 months.

How much does B'tox treatment cost?

Renew’s B’tox treatment prices are based on gender, treatment type and the number of areas treated.
